A ritual of healing and a somatic embodiment of trauma, set within the space of a house of tragedy.I make an ascent from the surroundings of the house to its attic in my wings, which I took back from death. Giving my body the freedom of movement, rising to the very top, near the open roof window directly above our apartment, I dance the ritualistic dance of the Morpho butterfly.In this work, the unrenovated, at times eerie and decaying childhood home becomes a documentary witness to a personal tragedy and a keeper of memory. This is an act of radical honesty and a final letting go of pain.
